Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

What is Lymphatic Drainage?

Manual Lymph Drainage is a systematic technique directed toward the superficial tissues, with the intent of accelerating the movement of lymphatic fluids in the body. This technique stimulates the immune system by increasing the production of lymphocytes in the lymph nodes and improving the body's metabolism. It helps to drain stagnant fluids, toxins, and proteins from the interstitial fluid, helping the to rid the body of toxins and waste materials. The slow rhythmic pace of this technique is very relaxing and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which in turn is helpful in relieving stress, depression, and some types of insomnia. MLD promotes the balance of the body's internal chemistry, purifies and regenerates tissues, helps to normalize the functions of organs, and enhances the function of the immune system.
